More informations
Crafted in the style of certain elite classified growths, the Cuvée Prestige Rouge is the result of a close collaboration between our winemakers, Cellar Master, and the estate's management. It concentrates the very best of Virant's expertise. Based on a rigorous blend of Cabernet and Syrah, this wine is naturally aged for 1 year in our historic 17th-century cellar using strictly selected oak barrels.
Produced each year in very limited quantities, this cuvée reflects the dedication of our team, acting as true guardians of ancestral methods from harvest to topping-up. This precise work yields a long, powerful, and beautifully complex palate, blooming with intense aromas of blackberry, cherry, spices, vanilla, and caramel—a pure expression of the grapes and our terroir.
Pairing
This fine red wine pairs perfectly with red meats, game, and is an excellent match for gastronomic dining. It will also surprise your guests with the rich aromas that develop when enjoyed alongside chocolate desserts.
Tasting advice
The ultimate expression of the Cuvée Prestige Rouge will reveal itself after being brought to temperature slowly, followed by decanting or aeration one hour before serving.
Environnemental initiatives
Having been committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture for many years — recognised by the High Environmental Value (HVE) label — Virant is now taking a new step forward with an ambitious agro-ecological transition, centred on restoring and maintaining soil life. Plant cover, limiting inputs, and encouraging natural beneficial organisms: every practice is designed to nurture the estate’s biodiversity and strengthen the natural balance of our 216 hectares of vineyards.
Awards
Due to their limited production, Virant’s Cuvées Prestige are not entered into national competitions.
