More informations
As Virant’s first wine with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, our PDO Chateau Rouge Cuvée is a real asset at the table. More approachable and slightly less full-bodied than our famous Inspiration Cuvée, it charms with its ease of drinking and its vibrant, fruity profile.
It is the quintessential safe bet, recommended all year round by our wine merchants to accompany all your moments of togetherness. This harmony is the result of a meticulous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
To fully express the richness of the terroir, these grape varieties undergo careful vinification at temperatures between 20 and 25°C, accompanied by long maceration periods of around four weeks. This expertise results in a Provence wine that is both structured and supple. Its velvety palate, dominated by black fruits, blackcurrant and spices, is underpinned by pronounced tannins that give it superb length — a great red wine from Provence, the epitome of conviviality.
Pairing
TThis full-bodied red wine will be the perfect companion for your special traditional meals, pairing beautifully with flavourful red meats and your cheese platters.

Environnemental initiatives
Having been committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture for many years — recognised by the High Environmental Value (HVE) label — Virant is now taking a new step forward with an ambitious agro-ecological transition, centred on restoring and maintaining soil life. Plant cover, limiting inputs, and encouraging natural beneficial organisms: every practice is designed to nurture the estate’s biodiversity and strengthen the natural balance of our 216 hectares of vineyards.
Awards
Chateau Virant Rouge has been recognised on several occasions at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris, winning a Gold Medal in 2018 and 2023, as well as a Silver Medal in 2019. It also won the Couronne d’Or at the Concours d’Aix-en-Provence in 2026. These awards recognise the consistency and distinctive character of the estate’s red wine.
