More informations

The story of this cuvée is deeply rooted in the restoration of an exceptional terroir. In 2014, when the teams of Château Virant took over Château Beauferan, the historic vineyard had been left abandoned. Convinced of its remarkable potential, our winemakers undertook a complete rehabilitation, carefully preserving the old vines while replanting young grape varieties.

This precise work restored Terre de Beauferan to its noble status within the PDO Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation. Considered one of the finest white wines of the estate, this growth fully expresses the identity of this rehabilitated site. Blended from classic Provençal varieties, Rolle and Sauvignon blanc, it is aged for 6 months in oak barrels within our ancestral 17th-century cellar.

This masterful traditional expertise brings out a subtly oaked nose with elegant buttery and vanilla notes, leading into a long, powerful palate tailored for true gourmets.

Pairing

Ideal as an aperitif, this distinguished white wine pairs elegantly with fish dishes, seafood, vegetables, and long-aged French AOP cheeses. For a bold culinary experience, try pairing it with foie gras to unlock completely unique flavors on the palate.

This Provence white wine is best enjoyed at 12°C. To fully protect its tasting qualities and complex structure, ensure it is brought to temperature slowly and gradually.

Having been committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture for many years — recognised by the High Environmental Value (HVE) label — Virant is now taking a new step forward with an ambitious agro-ecological transition, centred on restoring and maintaining soil life. Plant cover, limiting inputs, and encouraging natural beneficial organisms: every practice is designed to nurture the estate’s biodiversity and strengthen the natural balance of our 216 hectares of vineyards.

The Terre de Beauferan Blanc wine regularly wins medals at the Aix-en-Provence competition. In 2017, it was awarded the Gold Crown. In 2019 and 2016, the Terre de Beauferan Blanc was awarded the Silver Crown.
