More informations
Immerse yourself in the world of premium olive oils with our Salonenque cuvée, an exceptional single-variety oil made from a single, unique variety of olive. The Salonenque, the premier variety of the Salon-de-Provence region where it has been cultivated for hundreds of years, reveals all its subtlety here. The olives are harvested in the heart of our estate and immediately pressed in our mill.
On the palate, this is a lightly intense, beautifully balanced oil, revealing delicate aromas of artichoke, hazelnut and fresh apple. Its very subtle bitterness and pungency provide just the right amount of structure to ensure the perfect preservation of this precious liquid. Mild and approachable, it is the ideal starting point for discovering, step by step, the aromatic palette of olive oils, before moving on to more intense fruity varieties.
Pairing
With a lovely, light intensity, this olive oil is equally enjoyable when used raw or in cooking. It has been created to bring out the best in dishes with mild, delicate flavours:
Everyday accompaniments: It pairs deliciously with rice dishes, fresh pasta and homemade gratins.
Fish & Vegetables: Ideal on raw or cooked fish, steamed vegetables, and for enhancing Niçoise salads, courgette salads or grated carrots.
Tasting advice
Olive oil is a living product that does not go off, but requires careful handling. Unlike wine, it does not improve with age: it is a fresh fruit juice best enjoyed within a year.
To ensure it retains all its nutritional properties and its precious ‘green fruit’ notes, be sure to protect it from its three enemies: light, air and heat. Simply store it in a cool cupboard and remember to close the cap tightly after each use.
environmental initiatives
Having been committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture for many years — recognised by the High Environmental Value (HVE) label — Virant is now taking a new step forward with an ambitious agro-ecological transition, centred on restoring and maintaining soil life.
Plant cover, limiting inputs, and encouraging natural beneficial organisms: every practice is designed to nurture the estate’s biodiversity and strengthen the natural balance of our 46 hectares of olive groves.
Awards
We never enter this oil into competitions as it is produced in very small quantities. However, at the request of our importers or customers, we do so.
That is how our Salonenque olive oil won a silver medal at the Olive Oil Japan competition in 2020.
