More informations
Château Virant’s Aix-en-Provence PDO olive oil in a jerrycan is designed for those who use it every day: more economical and just as practical, it offers the same quality as the bottle, so you’ll never run out at home.
This is often the natural next step for our customers: having been won over by our bottled oils, they then opt for the can to meet their day-to-day needs.
Pairing
Whether used raw or cooked, this extra virgin olive oil is exceptional and perfect for everyday use without a second thought. It is the centrepiece of your moments of togetherness:
With aperitifs & starters: A must-have for dipping a piece of fresh bread into, and for enhancing all your salads, raw vegetables or a raw fish carpaccio.
Hot dishes & family meals: It’s ideal for cooking everyday meals, serving with cooked fish, white or red meat, and is perfect for cooking lamb.
Tasting advice
Olive oil is a living product that does not go off, but requires careful handling. Unlike wine, it does not improve with age: it is a fresh fruit juice best enjoyed within a year. To ensure it retains all its nutritional properties and its precious ‘green fruit’ notes, be sure to protect it from its three enemies: light, air and heat. Simply store it in a cool cupboard and remember to close the cap tightly after each use.
environnemental initiatives
Having been committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture for many years — recognised by the High Environmental Value (HVE) label — Virant is now taking a new step forward with an ambitious agro-ecological transition, centred on restoring and maintaining soil life. Plant cover, limiting inputs, and encouraging natural beneficial organisms: every practice is designed to nurture the estate’s biodiversity and strengthen the natural balance of our 46 hectares of olive groves.
Awards
Since its foundation, the Château Virant oil mill has won over 200 medals at national and international olive oil competitions, including numerous gold medals at the Concours Général Agricole.
This consistent recognition sets our Aix-en-Provence PDO olive oil apart as one of the most highly awarded in France, year after year.
Each medal recognises the same commitment: that of an oil produced from olives grown and pressed on our estate, with respect for the terroir and the traditional varieties of Provence.
