More informations
Aglandau olive oil is a single-variety olive oil produced entirely from olives grown in our orchards in Provence and pressed in our own mill. This oil is made from Aglandau olive trees.
This variety, typical of the south of France, sets our region’s olive oils apart from their competitors thanks to their intensity.
Aglandau olive oil is intensely fruity and vegetal, balanced and harmonious. On the palate, it reveals pronounced herbaceous aromas, such as raw artichoke, freshly cut grass or tomato plants.
Bitterness and pungency are present, contributing to its powerful flavour and ensuring its ‘natural’ antioxidant potential. These two qualities also guarantee that the oils will keep well over time.
Pairing
Whether used raw or cooked, this robust olive oil is ideal for accompanying flavourful dishes and classic Mediterranean specialities.
Starters & Salads: it’s perfect for bringing out the flavour of rocket, tomato and mozzarella, or summer pasta salads.
Southern French dishes: it enhances ratatouille, vegetable tians, meat dishes and vegetable tarts.
Regional specialities: it adds the essential finishing touch to your homemade anchoïade and aioli.
Tasting advice
Olive oil is a living product that does not go off, but requires careful handling. Unlike wine, it does not improve with age: it is a fresh fruit juice best enjoyed within a year.
To ensure it retains all its nutritional properties and its precious ‘green fruit’ notes, be sure to protect it from its three enemies: light, air and heat. Simply store it in a cool cupboard and remember to close the cap tightly after each use.
environmental initiatives
Having been committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture for many years — recognised by the High Environmental Value (HVE) label — Virant is now taking a new step forward with an ambitious agro-ecological transition, centred on restoring and maintaining soil life.
Plant cover, limiting inputs, and encouraging natural beneficial organisms: every practice is designed to nurture the estate’s biodiversity and strengthen the natural balance of our 46 hectares of olive groves.
Awards
This distinctive, green-fruited wine confirms its supremacy harvest after harvest, as demonstrated by the 2025 vintage, whose aromatic intensity was recognised with a prestigious Gold Medal at the CGA in Paris and a string of outstanding regional awards.
